wiring harness for speakers?

hey guys,

ive done a few installs before but all of them had been on older cars were the wires were already cut (85 bmw, 92 olds, 93 explorer, blah blah blah) but nayway i just bought a 97 jetta from an older guy so it obviously hasnt had anyhting done to it, but i went to install some dls speakers that i had sitting around my garage and went i unscrewed the stock speakers theres like wiring connectors connected to the speaker, how would i wire the dls component set without it being a hack job?

Just strip the stock wire and splice new wire onto it. Brown will be the negative.

Hack job or no, I solder all my speaker wires on. Who's going to see it?

edit: Reason is I've had shorts from a badly crimped connectors but I've never had a short from a soldered connection.
