oh ok, thanksI'm sorry I ment 1 & 1/2 din. Meaning you'll have a place for the deck & a little "pocket" under it to place your remote, keys, etc. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
whats AI?AI part number is gmk420. i believe that is the one where you have to keep the radio but put it in the trunk so you can keep all of your diagnostics/info center. it is the biggest pain in the *** to install. not really, but it is...
ok thanks, what about the dash kit? I think i need this...GM-K422...it says that one fits double din or 2 iso chassis radios.American International, they make dash kits, just like Metra, Scoche, etc..

I believe it is a big long wiring harness that you are supossed to use and mount the old radio in the trunk so you don't loose any features on your display, while still adding in an aftermarket stereo. I believe it is a big pain in the ***. I could do an amp install in half the amount of time.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
edit: oops, for some reason i was thinking of the dash kit, not the harness. The harness # is GWH416

That is what you need, you don't need that crazy one that I stated above...
thanksThe 2003 should be a double-DIN factory radio. AI's GM-K420 kit will work; the GM-K422 is used if you are installing an aftermarket double-DIN or two single-DIN components. Metra's part number is 99-2003. The factory radio is controlled by the vehicle data bus, but unlike some GMs it doesn't generate vehicle warning chimes, so no need to relocate. The Metra harness is 70-2003. You'll need to find a new source for accessory voltage; there's none behind the factory radio.
"DIN" is a standard for head unit size that measures about 7" wide by 2" tall. "Double-DIN" means either two stacked "DIN" components, or a single head unit that's 7" x 4".
