wiring FI BL

I'm looking at getting a Fi BL 18 used and I had this idea of wiring it to my current amp. The sub is Dual 2 so that means that I would get roughly 4 ohms on each voice coil. is it possible to take one + and - and hook it up to one channel of a 2 channel amp, and hook the other set of + and - to the other channel of the amp. will the amp think that it's powering two 4 ohm speakers, or will this cause some other type of load?

ok......would it make that much a difference if i were to just use one voice coil and run the amp 4 ohms bridged. I have read that sometimes it can change the parameters of the sub if you only run one coil, but will it put the sub or amp in any danger up messing up.

a d2 sub has 2 2 ohm voice coils.

so wire the sub's coils in series and run the amp at 4 ohm bridged.

the amp is a swiss audio 6002. i know it will underpower the sub, but its all i have for now until the spring. it will give 450 RMS a channel at 2 ohms.

It is a DUAL 2 ohm sub. Do you know that dual means? Wire the sub to a 4 ohm load bridged off of the amp. This will require BOTH coils wired in series like profundus-sanus showed.

I know exactly what that means and that's not what I'm asking. I know that wiring it in series will give me a 4 ohm load. I'm asking if I can run each voice coil into a channel of my amp and have a 2 ohm load on 2 channels. get it?

It's too bad that's not what you said. There will be no difference running it bridged or with one coil per channel. Bridged is the better option just in case there is a slight difference in power on one channel or the other (stereo bass... it's pretty rare though). When you run bridged, that won't happen.
