Wiring DVC 4ohm subs

Hi i have a quick question about my dual voice coil 4ohms alpine type-r subs. I have a two channel amp that i have bridged (700W) and i want to wire the setup to 4ohms. I currently have it wired like this diagram i saw -

Now everyone that sees my install that is a 'pro' tells me it is wrong. In the alpine manual it says it should be wired like the pic in the attachment. Are they the same or should i just link the two subs together or keep two wires at each teminal at the amp like it is wired now?

Yes, both of those are the same thing as far as getting a 4ohm load.

I agree, both are the same and will give a 4 ohm load with 4 ohm DVC's.

They are exactly the same. Whoever tells you they are different has no basic understanding of electronics, so don't listen to them.
