Wiring Dual 1 Fi Q @ 2ohm

I've been looking around the net and I have been getting mixed ideas and random diagrams on how I should wire my Sub to my Clarion DPX 11551. Originally with my Kicker 06ZX 1000.1 I used the top diagram to wire the sub to the amp.

But after some reading I found someone say in order to get a 2ohm load I need to wire it

"You would have to wire it to 2 ohms, to do this wire the voice coils in series. (+) from amp to (+) of one voice coil, a jumper from (-) of that voice coil to (+) of the 2ND. (-) from the second voice coil to the (-) of the amp."

That is how you need to wire it. In "series" would be the correct term. Just as you stated in the second quote.

That top diagram you linked is wiring in parallel, so if you used this same sub (dual 1Ω coils), you were running that amp at 0.5Ω.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

The impedance rise would probably put it closer to 1 ohm. Just maybe. Check it at the end of the wires with your DMM to see what it is.
