wiring different ohms together

ok....so look at this picture, and look at the bottom right option. Now with that equation, assuming you have two dual 2 ohm dvc subs, that would come out to a total load of .125 ohms. dude, so if i did that right, you could if you wanted to wire 2 subs in .125 ohms?

i'm still curious about this stuff, what would happen if you did this?

wired it in series just like this, but then ran a wire from the negative on one sub to the positive on the other

Try that math again.... that's a 1/2 ohm load. Not .125 ohms.

i'm still gettin .125, assuming you use two 2 ohm dvc subs. (1x1) (1x1) equals 1, then square root of that is still 1, so 1 is the top number in your equation. Now (1+1) + (1+1) equals 4, so 4 is the bottom number of your equation, so now 1/4 is what your left with, so maybe that's actually a .25 ohm load and not a .125 ohm load, but i don't get .5 either way

no, you are getting this all friggin wrong, dual 2 ohm subs, mean that, each friggin side is 2 ohm. So try to do it again with the number 2 and then see what you get. Sorry if I'm rude, but I'm really sick *cough cough*

no, they equal the right ohms, i have two 2 ohm dvc kickers with an audiobahn 1800D mono amp. It's 1200x1 at 2 ohms or 1800x1 at 1 ohm. And i wanted to get that extra 600 watts out of it by finding a way to run my two subs at 1 ohm. Otherwise im only getting like 600 watts per speaker, and they can take a little more, plus you know it's louder at 1 ohm

well if you have dual 2 ohm subs, you are basically screwed. You could try wiring that at a .5 ohm load...maybe not the smartest thing, but you are going to probably overheat your amp, and start fires....so take pictures, or movies!
