wiring and ohms

Ok, this might be kinda confusing but ill try it any ways.

I thinking of getting 8 Rockford Fosgate 8" subs. They are 8 ohms each. when wired 4 of them togeather they are 2 ohm. so if i wire 4 togeather and another 4 then they meet at the amp would i go down to 1 ohm? Or am i just retarded for asking this question?
