Hi every one, I've just joined this site so I'm very new to it. I'm looking for some help on my new install. Hope you can help. I have two 400-Usamps and two VLX-400 Usamps, which I will be using to power two 15" Atomic apocalypse subs. I have Autotek 2,3/5 way crossover to split the signals. The crossover only has one output for the sub amps. How do I join all four amps ? Somebody told me that I need a splitter but I'm not sure if that's correct.

good amps...the VLX400 is a beast. The other one..is it a USA400? Are you going to have the subs in separate enclosures?

How are you going to run the 4 amps to 2 speakers?are they strappable ?

you need to be careful when setting gains, so each amp provides the same output power - which means you're wasting the output from the VLX-400.

i assume each sub has dual voice coils, what is the impedance of each coil? what is the minimum load of each amp (i don't feel like looking it up and you should already know this) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yes I should know but I've had these subs and amps for a few years now...Yes I know before you say it, "get then in the car". When I brought the subs and amps I was well into the SPL circuit, but changes and circumstances in life forced me to put it on the back burner. Now I have the time and resources to pursue the instal.

Yes the subs are dual voice coil and I believe they are 2 ohm. The amp is 400rms and again I believe will go down to 1/2 Ohm in bridged mode. I appreciate you mentioning about wasting the VLX-400, that might change my plans. I could use the 2 smaller 400 to power the mids and tweeters up front and just use the 2 VLX'S for the subs. I appreciate if anybody has any ideas for the best set up, taking into consideration I would like to enter DB drag competitions.

just get lots of alternators,batteries and big a$$ wire for those amps...current hogs!!!

Thanks for that advise, I,m planning on adding another alternator and getting 4 yellow tops..Will that be sufficient ?
