Wiring A Visonik V4000XD to .5 ohm Can it take it? Need more electrical?

K long story short. Ive got 4 15" AQ 15's in a wall, all run by a Visonik V4000xd @ 2ohm. Does 3000+ @ 14volts.

I am THINKING of wiring down to .5 ohm. Now Ive obviously got a few questions, the car is a daily, and will the amp be able to take that daily?

As it sits now. @ 2ohm, I drop to about 11.8 at the lowest. But I have blown the mofsets before on this when it dipped into the 10's before I upgraded electrical

Im hoping someone else can chime in here with some knowledge of if this amp can even be wired to .5ohm. When I bought it I was told it was modded, most likely to be able to run @ lower resistance. But how do I verify?

My current electrical consists of a simple blue top main batt, second underhood big truck battery w/ 160min reserve, 110amp alt, big 3 in 0 guage, 0 gauge power run.

Curious of your guys opinions on if it doable or not as it sits, or if I need to upgrade. Im thinking I putting out right around 2000rms @ 12volts from the amp, any idea what kinda numbers I might see @ .5?

I figure after imp rise (which I know nothing about), that Id probly be up over 1ohm anyways right? I searched and couldnt find any info on modding/running these amps low

Thanks

if it drops to 11.8 now it will most like drop to about 10.xx when u wire it down that low. also i have heard mixed reviews about that amp so be careful with it before u slam on it half daily. u will need a bigger alt or bigger battery. i have some huge c&ds for sale if u wanna upgrade just the batteries., hope this helps a little

With what you have I would not run that amp at .5.I ran 2 of the hk4000d's last year. Both at 1 ohm daily and got just over 3k from them.At .5 I would not run them daily. They tend to get hot.I would oly burp at .5.

To run these amps sufficently daily you need 4-5 batteries in a bank in addition to your battery under the hood.

I wouldn't run it daily @ .5ohm, that amp @ 1ohm alone creates a huge amperage draw. If at 2ohms your already dropping to 11.8, i'd expect mid 10s @.5ohm.

Thats the same amp as the MA HK4000D if i'm not mistaken and i've seen them take .5ohm for burps but that was with a huge electrical backing.

Those amps are not even 1 ohm stable, I have one at my house that I'm repairing. You could remove the output transistor gates so it will operate below 1 ohm but you will need a huge electrical, it will not be stable but will play at .5 ohm.
