Wiring a single 13w7

I was just wondering how i wire my dual voice coil 13w7? i have this amp US AMPS Xterminator XT2000D to run it..puts out 1000 rms at 1 ohm. so how do i wire the sub. ive looked at jlaudio website and dont quite understand the concept between series and parallel..i think i should wire it in parallel. am i right or wrong?

Parallel will give you a .75 final load.

Ok but does .25 difference from 1 ohm make a difference..casue that amp is 1000rms at 1 ohm not .75..so am i still ok?

with rise you should be above 1 ohm anyway but just dont push it to hard to see how the amp does

Jl does this on purpose so you would have to buy thier amps. But it is still possible but your not going to get as much power in series, or the ohm load is too small for most amps. a .5 stable amp is recomended, but you wont get the full power at .5 though.

You should be fine. Just hook it up and see how the amp does.

ok soudns good thanks. i might end up gettin a jl amp if i need it to hit louder if im not satisfied with this amp haha..but is hte worse thing that could happen my amp be blown?

You can get an amp thats .5 stable to save money maybe. You just wont get the full wattage the amp states at .5. You should get something in between the rated 1, and .5 ohm. So its not a big difference. But If you got money, definately go with a jl amp.

Yeah your amp might have a problem with the .75, but Im not familiar with that amp so I dont know. But in most of the cases I hear, wiring below the stable ohms=some sparks and fire inside the amp.

Factoring rise into amp selection / setup is a bad idea.
