hey guys,

i have an optima red top and a kinetic hc2400. optima being my front batt and kinetic in the cab on my truck. well im not sure if i have it wired properly. i just have one wire of 1/0 going from the red top on the positive terminal to the kinetics positive and have them grounded separately. i read somewhere that i have to run a run of 1/0 from negative on one battery to the other one too. whats the difference if i just grounded them separately or is this ok? also ive seen people say they have 2 runs or 3 runs of 1/0. what does that mean? now that i ordered my iraggi 260 amp alt should i run another run of 1/0 on top of it? sorry for the dumb questions.

thanks guys,

-eric

I would run a ground 1/0 to the neg on your battery in the rear.
There's really no reason for this. If you've made sure your amp ground is basically directly connected to the chassis and your big 3 is directly connected to the chassis, your ground is ROBUST. These guys on here think that since the competitors do it with their 10,000 watts drawing 800 amps that their little system that doesn't even come close to half of that needs it too. You will benefit more from a second power run that you will a run of ground all the way back to the batt. The chassis has far less resistance than 1 run of 1/0 or even two for that matter depending on vehicle.

Multiple runs are for high power draw. And a negetive is not necessarily needed, but won't hurt. But grounding in the back is fine as well as long as it's grounded in a good spot.
ok so should i run another run? im only running a sundown saz 1500.
I would run a ground 1/0 to the neg on your battery in the rear.
alright guess ill do it. drillin those huge holes are a pita.

Dont run the neg. to the sec. batt there is no point.... I have 2 red tops with diff. grounds no issue. with big 3 done your golden, just make sure that both grounds are clean and solid
