wiring a push button to pop fuel door instead of pullin hand lever

is this possible since the car has a lever like switch on the floor of the car? I'm not sure if there is any type of wiring involved in these type of fuel door releases ...or is it just a cable that the lever pulls?

I've seen manual ones from a cable pulling it (older honda) and then a full electric one (06 Jetta GLi)

Anything can be done with the right mods. If it's a lever you yank on it's prolly cable actuated. But you might be able to adapt a solenoid in the trunk if you're clever. Best to check a dedicated forum for your car.
