So im redoing my setup. i eventually want to run a second amp, my distro block goes from 4g to 8g. ive been running it with the 4g. is it going to play any different with 8g? or should i stick with the 4g and just run another line when i add the second amp?

stick with the 4g.

if you are redoing the whole thing just buy a new distro from and go 0g from your battery to the back and 4g from the distro to the amp. can never go wrong with that.

Stinger has a distro for pretty cheap that has two 1/0 and three 4gauge inputs. I used one for a good while, cost maybe $15. Ran 1/0 from battery to distro, 1/0 to my sub amp, and 4gauge to my 4-channel.

well i actually just ran the 4g back there im not redoing that. i basicly doing the big 3, making an amp rack, making a new box, and getting a better ground.

That 4ga will ONLY support your DD M1b.

If you do not want to replace the 4ga you have with something larger, just leave it connected to your M1b. When you decide to add another amp, add another run of properly size power cable to support the extra amplifier.

My brain hurts just looking at those diagrams. It's late so if anyone sees a problem with either of those, please feel free to chime in!

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.
