Wiring a Kicker KX800.1

All,

New to the site and first time poster. I have a question for all of you gurus for wiring help of my new subs.

To begin I previously had a 2 ohm Kicker TL710/box combo install in my Ram. It took up to much space so I ended up with a stealth box for under the seats to give back wanted space. This is the way the wiring looked at the AMP (Kicker KX800.1 Mono).

Now that I have the new stealth box I equipped it with two JL Audio 10W3V4 (4ohm) subs. I wired them in parallel for an overall 2ohm load. I kept the wiring at the AMP the same however the subs hit for less than half the punch of the one L7.

My question to you all is do I need to wire them like this:

You need to wire for a 2 ohm load. Positives together and negatives together. Sounds like you have it wired correctly. You had a ported enclosure designed around the l7 10. Probably tuned in the 40's so it would get decently loud. I'm guessing you probably had it behind the drivers seat and port loading against the door. Switching to a box that is probably to small and firing the subs into the rear seat bottom you can't expect too much. If you have the gain set correctly and you are not getting the bass you want my only suggestion is to do a seat lift and have a ported fiberglass enclosure made or try a fox box that is ported. Center, rear firing is the best option for the port. Unfortunately it is hard to get good bass from under the seats of a dodge ram. Which box did you go with? A lot of the boxes that are claiming to have .55 airspace actually are about .4, I'm not sure they take out the thickness of the wood in their calculations of area available.

My biggest question is what terminals on the AMP do I use. They are lined up like this: ++-- Do I use the most inside set of + and - or do I use the most outside?

The box I chose was the dual 10" stealth box and each port has 0.65 cu. ft.

It doesn't matter. They are all the same. It's a mono, one channel. They are there for ease of wiring

I don't understand why there are two sets for just ease of wiring. Is this so you do not have to bridge the subs together essentially making it where you can run a power and ground from one sub to the amp and then another from the second sub?

Speakers don't have power and ground. Some people use many woofers and at times it's easier to wire them to the amp. It's pretty normal now to have 2
