Hi there,
First post here although I have browsed around for info. I'm wiring up my boat with a nice system.
What I've got.
6 100watt max alpine 6.5inch marine speakers, 30 watt rms
1 Kicker 300.4 4 channel amp..birdgable
1 Kicker 400.1 Mono amp 2 and 4 ohm capabilities
1 12 inch dual coil sub.-thus 2 ohms
1 Clarion 212 Watt x4 deck. DXZ765mp-has outputs for sub out, front out and rear out.
The way I have it wired now is...the sub running 2 ohms off the 400.1 amp
No complaints. Sounds great.
Situation...I have 2 speakers in the bow (front of the boat) running off the 300watt 4 channel amp. I have them bridged so they get about 150 watts a piece...they are rated for 30watt rms, 100 watt max. And the other 4 running of my clarion deck at 53 watts a piece.
Would I be better off running things the way I have it or put 4 sets of speakers on the 4 channel amp and get 75 watts a piece and have the rear two off the deck. Can I bridge the last two off the deck, as in connect the rears and fronts together for 106 watts per speaker??
Thanks for any help. Needless to say, it sounds great as is..but battery power is at a premium on a boat...so the more I conserve the better it sounds all day.
Cheers
John
