Wiring 98 Silverado

Hey, I've got a pretty simple set-up. Im only running 4ga so I went the lazy route and just ran it from the hood into the door opening and then under my carpet/threshold. This has worked great until recently I noticed that the wire being where it is breaks the rubber seal around the door and soaks the carpet on the passenger side every stinkin time it rains. I know I should run it through the firewall but I cant find a good easy spot to do it. This is my grandfathers truck who just recently passed and Im not about to screw anything up tryin to get my system better. Anybody have an easier way to fix this? Thanks.

you could run it under the car and drill a hole through the floor. That should be reletively simple and shouldn't mess anything up.

first of all its dangerous to run that 4 ga. power wire through the door jam that wire could short out and catch that rubber seal on fire. I also don't think you have to even drill a hole. just get under your truck and look near the back of the cab and under the drivers floor area, there are probably some removeable plugs you can take out, thats how it was in my 04 chevy (i know they are different year modles but my friends 97 had the same plugs) just run the wire underthe truck and go into the hole and then run the wire to amp(s)

On the right side inside the cab under the heaterbox. Lift up the carpet and you will see a flat spot to drill you a hole.
