Wiring 4 subs

My buddy has a pair of pioneer 3000spl subs dual 4 so they wire down to 1 ohm. He is thinking about picking up another pair and they are dual 2 ohm. So if he wired them 1 pair at 4 ohm and another at 2 ohm what would the final load be. Thanks in advance.

It's not going to really work correctly anywayz.... 2 of the subs will get a different power than the other two.
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/imwithstupid.gif.ff72b14418b3c35ebdf1ccd38da21695.gif The subs with the 2 ohm voice coils will see twice the power than those with the 4 ohm voice coils...

Stick with identical subs only.

If he buys an amp that puts out the same power at 2 ohms as his does at 1 ohm, then the subs would be getting the same power. I can't see why the different coil configs would cause any problems other than with the wiring. But under no circumstances should he hook both pairs up to the same amp. If it's that good of a deal, buy them, sell them, buy two more dual-4s.
