2){ IN A 4CHANNEL AMP }

if i wire channel number 1 parallely or in series with 2 subs 4 ohms each and only attach a single speaker on channel number 2 which is of 8 ohms and similarly do this on channels 3 and 4 or leave the channels 3 and 4 empty will this effect my equipment ??is this possible??

3){ IN A 2CHANNEL AMP }

if wire channel 1 parallelly or in series with 2 subs(4 ohms) and wire channel 2 parallely or in series with 2 (8ohm) speakers or leave channel 2 empty will this effect my system ???

is thiss possible?

1. mono amps are usually Class D and more efficient. you only have one gain knob to adjust helping you achieve equal voltage (power) to each sub (assuming equal subs). mono amps are typically designed with subs in mind - so they have crossovers, filters, etc. designed specifically for subwoofers.

2. sure it's possible. performance will depend on the amp. if the amp has individual gain adjustment for each channel then you are in luck. if not, then you need to separate the loads differently - keeping like loads on one gain control. you'd need to coordinate with the specific amplifier's manual.

3. same as #2

for the most part - you want to keep channels 1 and 2 consistent, then channels 3 and 4 consistent. of course, it depends on the amp. some amps are more flexible than others (and usually more expensive) due to a monoblock design. you can have a two channel amp that is essentially a pair of monoblock amplifiers in one chassis. this kind of amp will be better suited to your specific question.

a better way to find out what to do is to list your equipment - make/model/impedance and tell us what you are trying to achieve. then we can offer a suggestion as to the best method to achieve those goals. if you have amplifiers already, tell us what you have. if you are looking to purchase this stuff, tell us that. we need to know everything you currently own or have purchased that you want to use.

sir @keep_hope_alive

wow help has arrived in under 1m in this forum seriously im amazed thank u sir u have cleared much of my doubts please can u tell me this

""i have 2 12" coral speakers(8ohm) and will buy 2 12" 4 ohm subs

and i have a 4channel amp which has got 2 sets of controls eg gains,f.p.f,l.p.f filters for each channel so 1 for channels 1 and 2 and 1 for channels 3 and 4 so can i wire my 12" 8ohm speakers paralley on channel 1 and install a single speaker on channel 2 and wire 2 4ohm subs on channel 3 and intall a single speaker on channel 4 ?thx //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i don't recommend buying two different subs. your best bet is as follows:

wire 8 ohm subs in parallel for 4 ohm load. bridge channels 1 and 2 to this load

if you buy two more 8 ohm subs then you repeat the process for channels 3 and 4.

if you can't repeat the process, then you simply wire the 4 ohm subs to individual channels 3 and 4. one 4 ohm sub to channel 3, one 4 ohm sub to channel 4. the real trick will be setting the respective gains so you have equal power into each sub.

BTW - don't assume my speedy and accurate/ helpful response is a good representation of the forum. you got lucky tonight.
