Wiring @ 2 ohms question

Hey guys.

I have a quick question.

If I run an amp @ 2 ohms does it get as hot as if I ran it @ 1 ohm ?

well, usually it is easier on the amp to run it at 2 ohms rather than 1 ohm, but your subs will dictate how you are going to wire it. I would say that it also depends on the amp because some amps are designed to put out maximum power at 2 ohms or 1 ohm. My amp, for example, is a Crossfire VR1000D, which puts out 1000 x 1 @ 1 ohm. So, i run 2 4 ohm dual voice coil subs in order to run the amp at 1 ohm.

Less resistance ususally follows with more heat.

Not always the case but its a general guideline
