Wiring 2 differnt amps to split watts ???

Ok I have 2 12 w7's which im sure you know are 750 watts rms, well i have 2 1600 watt at 1ohm hifonics amps and a 1200 watt hifonics amps, the 1600's would deliver 825 watts rms while the 1200 would deliver 675...ya ya ive hear hifonics is overrated w.e dont care...well ive heard before that you can wire 2 differnt size amps do even there wattage delivered to subs...as in if i could do that with a 1600 and a 1200 that would give each w7 750 watts rms...is this possible ?

?? do i just wire the subs in parralel but take the -.+ of each sub to it's own amp ??

I've read this 3 times and can't figure out what you are trying to say.

Are you asking if you can use two amps that are different models, not strapped on one sub? If so, don't do it.

EDIT: (Take 2)

If you have 2 identical amps that you want to run to 2 identical subs, your best bet is to strap them (if they are strappable) wire them to the load you want and adjust the gains.

You could "match" the amps to sub (ie one amp per sub) but this takes some serious effort and I've never seen it done properly.

Use the amp with more power as you can just adjust the amp to the required power that you need (here 750rms)

if you've read it 3 times how the hell did you miss the part where he says he has two? its the first sentence......

I've edited, but chrome didn't take. How about something positive rather than you taking the time to insult me?

Ya I just read it it's kind of confusing..What im asking is..Ive heard you can somehow wire 2 different size amps to split there wattage and deliver an even wattage...Example>>>A 1200 watt amp that will deliver 675 watts to 1 w7 and a 1600 watt amp that will deliver 825 watts..ive heard you can wire the amps so they they give even wattage between them..675 and 825 even would be 750 a sub..understand??

Gotcha, don't do that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. Get one large amp to power both or two smaller amps that you can strap together for the required power you need.

For now I would take your 825RMS amp and use that (what amp is it specifically?) Although underpowered, the W7 does well with whatever it is given. Just make sure the box is ideal.

just stating the facts if you read it 3 times and missed that then i dont know what to say
You are permitted your opinion. So I didn't edit what I wrote. Again, I'll leave mine too. You continue to post whatever it is your posting rather than trying to help. Are all 8 of your posts this helpful?

You should have started your first one with. I have no idea because I know practically nothing about caraudio, but my dad sodamizes me and I need an out THEN put...if you read 3 times blah blah blah

I guess it is doable with a DMM. But I would not do it. Other factors come into play as well.
Yeah, DMM or OSC it is possible. But I'm with you that the final outcome would not be that good.

Hmm Hey pl8er what is strapping??, and i have the 2 w7's in a ported box build to jl specs...with the 1600 on 1 w7 and the 1200 on another w7, i mean technically the subs are not in the same box you know...so is this setup a problem ?? I just tried to tune the amps to give the same wattage...

Strapping is using two amps together. Basically you have a master and slave giving you (usually) double the power. You cannot strap what you have. Also, what you are doing right now is not a good idea.

How did you wire the subs?

I would use the single amp, wire the subs together and run it that way. You're running different amounts of power to each sub currently.

Ya I was told that wouldnt be a problem since technically the subs are in different spaces...I just have the normal wireing of 2 amps off of my cap..the subs are svc 3ohm so i just have the +.- of each sub to 1 amp, since i have 2 w7's i could wire them in parralel to my 1 1600 watt amp, but that would show a 1.5 ohm load and that would be alot to put out for my amp...

If your amp is 1ohm stable, then I believe that would be your best bet.

You're currently running each at 3ohm. What amps do you have?

Another idea would be to trade your two amps for 1 amp that better fits your needs (1,500 RMS).

Ya ive been trying it seems like im stuck with these amps...there 1600 and 1200 Hifonics Brutus BxI 1608 and 1208 there only rms rated which is that # at 1 ohm... why is each amp to 1 sub bad???

1-Channel Mono-Block Operation

550 Watts RMS x 1 @ 4-Ohms

1100 Watts RMS x 1 @ 2-Ohms

1600 Watts RMS x 1 @ 1-Ohms

This amp would run them great actually. Wire the two together for a 1.5ohm load and you would be around 1,100-1,300 rms.

Given the equipment you have, You only need to use 1 amp @1 ohm to deliver plenty of power to the 2 12" subs. The queston is what ohms are the subs rated for ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
