12 4ohm 8's wired to 4 ohms. can some1 plz help me. im not really sure how to do this, im getting confused. can some 1 draw up a diagramfor me?

Not in the state to be drawing a diagram right now, but see if you can search and find something about wiring two quad-coil subs down to the impedence of a single coil and you should be doing it in the same fashion.

owch. that sucks. i bet you dont have 3 amps eh?

unless you got a really nice 6 channel amp that can 200 hundredish watts per channel @ 2 ohms.. wouldnt that be nice?

and no i can't draw it right now because i don't want to spend the time, but someone can, or read a highschool physics book.

1. group 4 speakers together and wire them in parallel by connencting all the positive leads together, and by grouping all the negatives together.

2. you've now got 4 groups. Each group totals 1 ohm if you wired it into an amp, if you wired the 4 positives into the amp positive and 4 neg's into the amp neg.

3. Now wire the 4 groups in parallel. Stick one negative group of wires into the negative on your amp. Then take the positive wires and go down the line with the other groups and connect that positive group to a negative group. Not individually, but all together... like a friggin bouquet

4. now you have a chain of 4 groups, the chain starts with the 4 negatives pluged negative terminal in your amp (from group 1), and your sitting there at the end of the chain with 4 positives in your hand from the last group. Guess where they go!!... in the positive terminal. you've added up those 4 single ohm groups to get 4 ohms total.

that's probably only one way of more that can do it. but my time is expired.

too bad i only have 12 woofers and not 16, so ill have 3 groups instead of 4.

I've decided to go with a hifonics bx1000d and wire the subs to it at 1.34 ohms.

Are your subs 4-ohm DVC or SVC?

What you do is have two groups of 6 subs, wire the 6 subs in parallel with each other(+ to +, - to -). Then wire the 2 groups in series, (+ to -, - to +). I can make a quick diagram if you want. The final load with be 1.33333333.....4 ohms.
