anyone else borrowing wireless internet access from your neighbor?

i have no idea which neighbor is so geneous to me, but i know his name is "dean"

i get faster upload speeds from him than i do on my cable connection in my own house

where can i get a better antenna for a laptop?

i am using the internal wireless right now and although i get good speeds it is only connected at 11mbps and i9 have to place my laptop by the window

i am thinking of getting rid of my home internet as well, but i am sure the day i do is the day he figures out what is going on and secures his connection

I have wireless internet, but it's from my own personal wireless router, I'm not stealing it. And I actually keep mine secure, not that anyone is anywhere near close enough to steal it (3 acre buffer zone FTW).

i am doing the same thing theres usually 2 avaible but i was also wondering where to get, or how to make an antenna to try and reach more networks.

A lot of times the reason for the wireless to become slow is if there is too many wireless networks in one area. They are all preset to channel 6, 2.4-----Ghz frequency. Where I live there is about 5 networks including my own, so I switched to channel 7 only slightly changing the frequency and speeds increased tremendously. I went from about a 200k to 300k download rate to an average of 1.3meg rate now.
