Wired two dual 4ohm subs in parallel, reading 1.77Ohms with multi-meter. This normal?

it can,but measure each coil alone, and see what you get
Will do, when I was taking them apart today I found that the button/spring wire connectors for one coil were completely gone. Just had the two wires coming off the spider and the speaker wire electrical taped to it. Kinda made me mad that the previous owner never told me..

Pulled everything out of the box, looks like very low grade wiring and its in a huge mess in the port of the box. When I find time il post per coil resistance and wire resistance, 16 hour days blow. Thanks for the help everyone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

On top of testing each coil individually, measure the resistance of your DMM as well. Touch the leads together on the "ohm" setting and see what you get. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Most DMMs will have a few tenths of resistance, so that could account for your higher reading too.

most likely after you straighten the rat nest and make proper connections they will read fine...and Tommy is right a meter can be off a tenth or two...by touching the two probes together you'll see how much and can subtract that total from your final reading

Touching probes drops me to complete 0ohms. Cleaned up the wires a bit, dont have any replacement wire right now. But I got the resistance down to 1.4 ohms. That close enough to be normal?
