Hey everybody I was wondering if there is a difference between 0/1 and 1/0 gauge wire or is it just how the companies have it listed? And what is the strand count of true 0G wire?

And what is better platinum or gold for conductors? or are they about the same?

Same thing (1/0=0/1) and it's a diameter for the sizing, not strand count (because strands arent always the same diameter/gauge as other wires strands)

And platinum is better for conductivity, gold is only used in electronics because it's very stable and doesnt corrode/react, etc like other metals

So being that it I will be getting a battery terminal would it be better that I go with the Gold being that it doesnt corrode as fast?

It's the same thing? Really? I was looking at welding wire a few months ago and they had sizes listed by gauge starting at 4/0 ga through 0/4 gauge. The sizes listed were 4/0, 3/0, 2/0, 1/0, #1, #2 and #4 and all were different sizes.

cable I use is 1064 strand count at $2.10 a foot, but strand count just means how flexible it is

More strands would mean better current flow, you can pass more current through 5000 strands than you could 2000. More strands usually means thinner strands, so yes, it also makes it a lot more flexible.
