Wire size for inverter

I know this isn't an amp, but is the same basic principal. I need to wire up a 2000 watt cont. 4000 peak power inverter in my truck. What size wire do I need to run and what size fuse? It only need to run about 15 feet total.

Can I use welding wire that size? It is impossible to find 2 gauge around here let alone 1/0

Same size you'd use for an amp that'd draw that much power.

Yeah I figured that much, but an amp would draw that much for a couple of seconds (most of the time) when the bass hits hard, but this will draw it continuously. I didn't know if I would need bigger wire for that or what.

Quality Car Stereo, Ken's Car Tunes, etc... don't have any 1/0? You can't order it? That's the route I'd go. And, yes, welding wire works fine.

I was looking for some 2 gauge before and the only thing I could find was 4 gauge at Quality Car Stereo for $1.20/ft Which was a pretty good price I thought. I bought 20 feet of that, but cannot find anything smaller. I guess it's time to hit up the internet. Thanks for all your help.
