Wire Shielding

i was curious if there was any type of wire shielding for car audio that will kill most of the noise. like a copper wire sleeve that is grounded to knock out all the incoming and out going noise. analog is very easily corrupted by noise so we all can see here that this should dramatically increase sound quality, especially being in a car, which has alot of noise that can be picked up from the engine and so forth.

You will find some top-end head units with a copper chassis for noise rejection, but I dont think Ive ever heard of copper shielded cable.

yea ive seen stuff like that, i was curious if there was any wire shielding. i was thinking to myself i bet it would be pretty crazy expensive if there was any. though i have heard of some fiber optics being installed in some vehicles with impeccable sound quality reviews.

shielding is only effective at attenuating capacitively induced noice.. it won't do anything for inductively induced noise such as alt whine..

shielding is effective on any wire that is susceptible to noise....which is all wires.
