Wire question

Well i just recently got a new power acoustiks bamf 2000/1D. Not the best amp but im on a budget. Well i am using a 8 gauge wiring kit that i used for my 500 watt alpine amp but when i hook up everything for the new amp it isnt half as loud as the alpine even when its less wattage. So i was wondering if it was just the gauge of power and ground wire i am using or not? so plz give me some hints or options to fix this.

yes, get a 4 gauge amp kit... and also the fuses on that amp will blow the fuse running on your power wire too.
