i have a toola about 2-3ft long and you press the button at the end and the other end these claw's come out. and when you release the push button it grab's whatever you are trying to grab.. is that what ur talking about

yea thats it... especially for trying to run wires through the firewall and wire from the cab or my truck to the bed

shit.. ive got 2 of them.. but i use a steal rod for running wire threw the fire wall's..

rarely use the wire graber tool but it comes in handy when you need it..

I found using pex pipe to be far more effective at that. It is flexible enough for the tight curves but the inside stays open so you can push wire through.
