wire comparisons

has anyone ever done head to head or any type of wiring comparison? I ask this because im looking into wiring for my new project and ive seen the Knu and the Kicker but today on my way home i decided to see what a local "discount" shop had and what their prices were. he told me that he did a wiring instal that was $1100 a ft because it was pure silver and silver is the best conductor for music ect. n i told him i was looking into kicker and knu wiring (which i dont think he knows what it is lol) and he said "they dont specialize in wiring thats not where they got there start. kicker makes subs blah blah blah." Then he said that i should go with some monster wiring and if thats not good enough then look into the stuff that gets up to 1100 a ft. and he basically said gold sux coppers ok and silvers the best for wiring. I think he may have some knowledge in background from being around for 30+ years he says but i think its still a "get my cheap shit so i make bank" selling policy.

I do see a big thing for either knu or kicker but i want to know if theres better stuff behind all the hype. Thanks Scotty

My monster 1/0 is bigger than Kickers and almost as big as my 2/0...
search my name and "wire pics" and you'll see my comparison pictures
Odd, Kicker is considered the golden standard pretty much. I also do really like the Knu Fleks that is out now.

ya correct me if im wrong but the jacket is just to stop/prevent interference but which ones have more conductor strand area? would more sheilding and less strands compensate for wiring with lots of strands and very little shielding (such as the 4/0 but in the same wire catagory)?

the copper is teh important thing... the more the marrier...

Bigger jacketing and less wire is Wal-Mart shit, a way to make it look big. The copper on the Monster is bigger than the copper on the other 1/0 and just a bit smaller than the 2/0. the 4/0 blows them all away

ya i got some hpm stinger from another member and im liking the look of the wire and flexability. i think i gonna go with that pending what kind of deals i can find. does anyone know of some good inexspensive fuse holders and such?

stinger makes a 3/0 awg triple zero

6,200 , 36 awg, 100% oxygen free tinned copper strands

spools are 30 ft

uber flex

i would use this if money was not an issue , very flexable
