Back on topic. So why is Biden claiming he needs to tap the reserves and what is the excuse he is using?

No one else here has said Biden is/was breaking the law in utilizing the SPR.

So, tell us what he did that you think made the use illegal.

The SPR was established after the Arab-Israeli war in 1973. OPEC embargoed oil after the US resupplied Israel during the war, which resulted in oil/gas prices going thru the roof and triggering massive inflation throughout the economy.

Currently, Biden is using the SPR because there has been a disruption to oil supply (aka Ukraine War), which is the exact purpose the SPR was established for and it's evident how much the current situation mirrors 1973. All you have to do is swap Russia for Arab and Ukraine for Israel to see the similarities. And of course we can see how reduced petrol prices have mirrored the drop in inflation. I do find it odd that certain conservative critics rail against Biden for inflation and then also rail against Biden for doing one of the few things he can do to bring down inflation. Damned if you do, damned if you don't....

I like how TrumpCo was saying that the States could/should make their own decision about casting their electoral votes until they decided to cast their electoral votes against Trump. IMHO, we should drop the electoral system for the POTUS. Congress is/was composed the way it is to ensure "equal" representation of the population and States.

Have to say, I've moderated my position on immigration some what. There is something called replacement rate and the US is going into a "negative" replacement rate. IMHO, we do need to secure the border, but we need a better process to let people legally immigrate and get into the system - pay taxes, gain citizenship, etc.

I just read a post where someone said if Trump's name is on the Epstein list, it's obviously been faked.
So if he's not on the list, then all the people listed are guilty, but if he IS on the list, then it all must be fake.

Hell, there's pictures of them hanging out, they were neighbors and there are quotes of Trump praising Epstein and his taste in women.

I get it, it's just mary jane, so there probably won't be much if any push back, but I don't like the precedence.

The POTUS has absolute authority. I wonder if there is wording that says a person must request it first.

I do know a person has the right to refuse a pardon. That would be a weird court decision to have made if a person MUST apply for it first.
