So why do so many Republicans (80%) want change?

80% of republicans agree with background checks. this is not even news. gun owners and republicans alike have always agreed with background checks. THATS WHY THEY EXSIST

for BOTH in store purchases and online. . .

thats why its important to actually know what your talking about so the numbers you are looking at gets put into actual context

My constitutional class work always expanded that The equal protection clause falls more in line w/ equal application of laws. I see illegal aliens getting pass all the time out here, while locals get hammered for DUI. Foreign born, dropped charges, local elctrican 2 years prison. Our professor was defense attorney who specialized in appellate hearings.

Also, I said find me a single District Court ruling or even better yet, a supreme court ruling that said voter ID and voter ID alone is unconstitutional. Laws already exist that restrict gun sales, types, tax stamps etc..

Any one can show up to vote and give any name they want, no proof needed.

Even if your BIL purchases a gun from you, you still have a burden that he is not a prohibited person. A smart person prints a state bill of sale for a gun purchase and exchanges information. If you bought from a dealer or interstate, an ID is required. Plan and simple, the ONLY caveat is in some states, as you pointed out, family/friend/intrastate point of sale, an FFL Isn't required but it the ATF still recommends certain record exchanges.

And if you want ALL amendments respected, you'd agree that the Jan 6th "insurrection" was the people protesting their elected officials, their 1st amendment right that so many liberals said, continue protesting as Minneapolis burned to the ground with liberal applause.View attachment 39274

Yes, a smart person sells a gun responsibly. A smart person who gives a crap about the law and possible repercussions. Thinking that criminals act in the same way is pretty naive, don't you think? But if you REALLY think every person-to-person sale is done with full respect of the law and of "recommendations" by the ATF, I have a bridge for sale...

No, the events of Jan 6th were FAR beyond "protest". Once they got to the point of violence, destruction of property, attempting a coup, they were no longer simply exercising a right of free speech. Convictions and imprisonment have pretty much settled that debate.

And, REALLY? You're going to pull the old "well, this is OK because someone else did THIS" routine? That's 3rd grade playground bullshit. Same crap with all the conservatives screaming about Clinton getting a blowie, then completely ignoring Trump grabbing p*ssy, cheating on each past wife with the future one, paying off hookers, etc.
Your past posts have suggested you are better than that lame path of argument.

Love how the left is all about painting this picture of all the violence and mayhem that occurred on Jan 6th

but when it comes to CHAZ in seattle which resulted in thugs taking over entire city blocks, causing billions in damage, several ****** assaults, two gun homicides and four shootings .... well

it was mostly peaceful

lmao

Governors and Mayors in these cities that were just plain wrecked enjoyed that because they knew as long as they got their people into power they could make money from it. All they had to do at that point was ask for money to help rebuild their city and they got it. How much of those funds actually went to fixing anything? How much ended up being skimmed right off the top? Yeah, they "loved" that summer. Bunch of criminals.
