I was speechless and in disbelief.

Just what is a safe amount of firepower for the everyday Joe to have access to, in your opinion?

Why speechless? I'm obviously not a gun expert and never claimed to be, but more than a 1,000 rounds in 10 minutes seems a bit excessive to me. I can't imagine any situation that an American citizen would be in where they need that much firepower to protect themselves. Maybe, I'm way off base and everybody needs that much killing power on a daily basis. I guess that I'll be looking into getting an AK or AR and at least a 60 round magazine to keep in my car from now on. In Nevada I can also carry a handgun pretty much everywhere. So, I'll be looking at some 9mm's or a .45 to carry on my person from now on. I've had guys killed on one of my job sites with an AK-47, it wasn't pretty.

I hear AR-50's are pretty popular.

1000 rounds in ten minutes is excessive if your goal is to kill a Coyote. If your goal is mowing down many people in a crowd then he planned ahead and had the appropriate munitions. I don't condone the killings or mass shootings but it is not something you can stop. Like trying to get people to stop having ***, it ain't gonna happen. When people snap there is nothing anyone else can do. You can't see the future or know what is in a persons head. You just can't predict when someone will go bat-shit crazy and decide to kill people. What you can do is arm yourself and hope that you don't have to stop a threat... but.... if you have to, you can.

So, all 22,000 people should've been packin' and maybe it could've been prevented? Maybe, at that gay dance club in Florida, everybody should've been allowed to be strapped while dancing. And, every movie goer in Aurora, Colorado should've been able to carry an AR into the Batman movie. And, all the kids at Parkland High School should've had their 9mm's ready when that shooting happened. What about the elementary students in Newtown, Connecticut? Should they all have been carrying .22's to be safe and protect themselves? So, what brand AR and .45 should I be looking to buy? I want at least a 60 round magazine.

There should be armed guards at schools. We have them to guard our money but not our kids??? You can just say dance club, the fact that it is a dance club for gay people is not relevant. But the clubs too should have armed guards. Any place where crowds can gather should have metal detectors and armed guards. Stop being dramatic. Kids should not be carrying guns but those charged with their supervision and safety should be.

Daniel Defense Makes a pretty good AR. I would shoot for a 9mm handgun, pun intended, as the ammunition is abundant. For clarification AR does NOT stand for assault rifle. It stands for Armalite and the rights to the AR-10 and AR-15 were sold to colt... in 1959.

It's relevant when the shooter made it relevant, not me. Watch the documentary. Another hate crime.

I never said that AR stood for assault rifle, you did. Being dramatic, I named situations where an armed gunman with an AR or AK could've been stopped by a doorman with a 9mm. Expecting a bouncer or elementary s bool security guard to stop a shooter with an AR an a 60 or hundred round magazine is a big ask, IMO.

I mean it is not relevant for YOU to call it that. Everyone already knows what kind of club it is. You could just say the club in Orlando. See? Or "The Orlando Night Club Shooting"

When the motive is obvious, then, I don't see anything wrong with saying a gay dance club. My brother is gay and I don't think that he would have a problem with me labeling it as a hate crime. Actually, the shooter was battling with his sexuality and was trying to prove to his father that he wasn't gay. In actuality, he probably was.

I actually did not say AR stood for Assault Rifle because I know it doesn't.

Why do you continue to think that a person carrying an assault rifle by default becomes invincible? Do you know how heavy a weapon like that becomes with 60-100 bullets in it??? You are looking at an 11 - 14lb weapon at that point. Not the easiest thing to maneuver or control.

To be effective you want a light weight rifle, an accurate rifle with good ammunition. 10 round magazines max and several of them. These can be dropped and swapped quickly. You want a back up weapon or two. A 9mm with double stacked magazines. A 4+ inch fixed blade knife. You want to move swiftly but with purpose and with the barrel pointed where you are looking to shoot. One bullet per target. Accept that law enforcement will eventually be there and that if you have made the choice to take it this far you accept that you will not survive.

Just saying.

People with weapons like these don't aim. They also have the weapon on a shoulder strap, so, 14 pounds ain't 💩. A 60 or 100 round clip is basically weightless. We both know that things won't change. At least talking about it helps. I know the 2nd amendment is there for good., and, so be it. I just wish that there was something that we could at least talk about to not make it so easy to mass murder people. But, I'm probably wrong, and that's fine. I voiced my 1st amendment right. That's all that I can really do. Be safe!

You read my idea right? Raise the cost of ammunition. Send the idea down the pipeline... no wait, Biden stopped that. Send the idea to President Harris and see what she says. Ya never know.

That pipeline wasn't even open yet. Biden has a bad stuttering problem, which I have also battled since I was 8 years old. People can make fun of it all they want, they just don't understand, and never will. Just like I don't understand guns, people don't understand a stuttering problem. Biden actually writes hesitations in his speeches where he knows that he will struggle with his stutter. Certain sounds really exacerbate a stutter, believe me. I was in many fights growing up after being teased because of my stuttering. Biden is our President and he won in a landslide. Trump actually lost the popular vote twice and was impeached twice, but whatever. I actually liked a lot of what Trump did. No party has my vote.
