You’re not catching the math.
And remember, you tried to convert a 34% rating specifically into what the Democrats thought of Biden.

Let’s assume “overall” is 100 people.
34% approval means 34 people out of 100 people.
Stats tell us that of the 100 polled, 50 will be Repub, 50 will be Dem, to be a fair and accurate poll.

Since we know the 50 Repubs have likely automatically not approved, we can count them out.
We are now left with 50 Democrats, and still have the 34 who approve.
34/50=.68 .68=68%

So, ~68% of Dems approve of Biden, just like ~68% of Repubs approved of Trump.
And they both had an overall rating of 34%

Again the question is: Does that mean they both **** or they both are good?
No, we can skip all the arguments and whatever you are planning for the next 5 pages.

34% is Biden's OVERALL approval rating. It is fact.

OK, so we'll acknowledge that basic math is not a skill in your wheelhouse.

That still leaves the question: Given that both Biden and Trump had a 34% approval rating, do you consider that number to indicate they are both failures or both successes?

TBH, it depends on the poll. A good poll would account for independents and lean GOP and lean Dem. So you might have pool that's more like 35% Dems, 10 lean left, 10% Independent, 10% lean right, 35% GOP. If the pool was something more along the lines of what I just suggested, that puts that 34% approval in a different light.

Right.

An approval percentage common to both Trump and Biden.
Does that mean they both **** or are both good?

It's a simple question.
IMHO, what the number really reveals is that there is ~68% party loyalist split evenly between the GOP and DNC. I highly suspect the 34% that approve of Biden don't approve of Biden so much as think Trump/GOP sucks and vice versa.

That is a good point, but it would also apply to Trumps rating, which was at 34% at the end of his run.

If someone is using the approval rating to paint a picture of a POTUS, it’s reasonable to think that picture should apply similarly to other POTUSes
