Policing robots makes total sense. Don't have to worry about a robot kicking someguys head in because it loses its temper. Robots can wait until perps use deadly force as opposed to humans that are forced to beat perps to the draw and then end up shooting somebody for pulling a cell phone. I can't wait until we get a robotic maid.

Here is the problem I see. These would/could be sent after criminals. Who is sending them? Humans are. So if the human sending the robot has the wrong information and the wrong person but tells the robot to go get that wrong person then what? What happens if in the course of securing this wrong person this person dies for whatever reason be it stress from the wrongful arrest or whatever?

We already have the same problem with human police. IMHO, the problem is criminals always proclaim innocence, which in turn means since everybody claims innocence that cops treat everybody as "guilty until proven innocent" despite what the constitution says. They should make in an additional crime to proclaim innocence when you are guilty. Go Robocops!!!

Yes but a human cop can reason, use common sense and critical thinking. A robot does what it is programmed to do.

I think we are so far from having them be autonomous, the concern lacks relevance.
They are controlled by humans who can exert the level of reason, common sense, and critical thinking you describe, albeit from a safe distance.
