After they overturned Roe v Wade, Sowell went on record that Dobbs v Jackson set the groundwork to overturn gay marriage, gay relationships and contraception rights. I don't know if you've read up on Dobbs/Jackson, but basically it undoes equal protection and privacy rights under the law. Ironically, the conservatives have just handed the gov't one of the weapons they claim to fear.
