It's just a joke how both parties are using the legal system to pander these days...but when you have the populace voting for a D or R instead of learning about the candidates...it's not surprising

I think many/most people are voting against the "other guy" based on lies & half truths told by "their guys" and are generally clueless. Or maybe the left & right extremes have gotten big enough that the parties ignore the centrist vote in favor of the far left/right.

I don't think the extreme of the left or right have necessarily grown...they're definitely loud enough to give the impression they're of the majority opinion...I really believe people vote for party based on the appearance of what each stands for without actually getting to know candidates....and politicians are eager to play on anything that drives votes...
