The law certainly differentiates between levels of theft.

So since you gave Trump a pass, it's safe to assume you also are giving Joe a pass. And I guess that would mean you generally find it acceptable for the wealthy to pay extremely low tax rates?
I didn't give ANYONE a pass. Did you read something I didn't post? I made the point that a crime is a crime and that you don't just ignore one because you think it is less grand in scale. The laws are the laws. Why is it when I give a simplified EXAMPLE people focus on the example.

I did read your post and numerous other posts. I've never once seen you criticize Trump for his taxes. As a matter of fact you didn't criticize Bumbling Joe' taxes either; you only criticized Trump's critics for being hypocrites.

Furthermore, you offered a busted comparison since it appears neither Trump nor Biden broke any laws. They've just taken advantage of the tax laws as they exist.

So, I ask again, do you approve of these low/no tax rates for the wealthy.

Busted comparison? I pointed out that these people are hypocrites. They want to bother Trump, probably out of spite, knowing they all do the same things when it comes to taxes. My view on tax laws isn't relevant to my point or the conversation.

Yes your comparison is Trump & Biden's taxes to theft or breaking the law is faulty since there is no evidence either broke the law.

Perhaps in your zeal to label others hypocrites you got confused about what was actually being criticized. Our Orange Friend said he would release his taxes, then didn't. So he was being criticized for lying. Biden did release his taxes - no hypocrisy there.

When Trump didn't follow through on his promise to release his taxes, that lead to speculation about how bad they were; what was he hiding? The public is well aware of the low tax rates paid by (wealthy) politicians, ie Ross Perot at 10%, Teresa Hienz-Kerry at 17%. So critics began wondering how bad are Trump's taxes if he's unwilling to release them.

I do find it odd that in thread about politics one would refuse to take a stand on one of the most basic principles - tax code fairness.

Yeah, I think it's comparable.

If a person walks into a store and steals $10 worth of merchandise and another person goes into a store an steals $100 worth of merchandise is it comparable? Yes, They are both crimes. When did everyone start ignoring the crime and start focusing on the amount to base their disgust on??? It's the same with voter fraud... "a little bit is ok". No, it isn't, it's all breaking the law. So when you ask what my point is and I say, hypocrisy it is because these criminals want to go full bore after Trump but will dip, duck, dive and dodge any attempts to investigate their own unlawful acts. Investigate one allegation, investigate them all.
"When did everyone start ignoring the crime"?
You mean like the guy on this forum who posted dozens of times that (at various times): January 6th never happened; January 6th was just a friendly party of wearing hats and waving flag; January 6th was staged by Democrats; there was no violence or plans for violence on January 6th; Trump had nothign whatsoever to do with the events of the day; etc?

THAT kind of ignoring, or a different kind?

"Bother Trump, out of spite?
Like the guy who wanted Biden arrested for utilizing the SPR exactly for the purpose it was established?

Or is that a different type of spite?

I'm more curious about what crime took place? Is Thx implying both Trump & Biden have committed tax fraud? That would also imply prosecuting both of them....

Does the POTUS get impeached if the crime was committed prior to being sworn in???
