So they're saying not once during McCain's long career as a Senator that the other Senator was a Dem as well as the Gov and SoS? I'll be damned.....

Arizona certified the results of the 2022 midterm elections, putting a Democrat as governor, secretary of state and in both U.S. Senate seats for the first time since 1950.

Hate is dislike but dislike is not hate.
Just like a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not a square.

Your hatred of Biden causes you to lie and make up reasons for the hate.
My hatred of Trump is based on real and factual things he has done or caused.

Dislike is a feeling of distaste or aversion. You would not dislike the color blue unless it had a negative impact to cause distaste.
Jesus Christ. All I said was the two are not the same. Literal and factual.

If it were the same thing it would just be called hate OR dislike. Stop trying to debate me, they are two different words with different meanings. Ergo, NOT THE SAME.

Different words aren't necessarily different things, I could cite thousandes, probably millions of examples (see Thesaurus). For example, crimson, cardinal, scarlet, cherry and red. Azure, indigo, cobolt and blue. Concur, acknowledge, concede, agree and recognize. Then of course you run into the fact that a single word can have a variety of meanings from slightly different to completely different - agree being a great example of slight variances. Blue can be anywhere from sky to navy.

I'm not sure about your schooling, but even in middle school using a word repetitively was frowned upon. So we were encouraged to find different words to express the same "meaning." I still have multiple thesauri on my bookshelves, which is a perfect example of multiple words having a singular meaning. There are two plural forms of thesaurus: thesauri or thesauruses; two words one meaning. In most cases, there are slight variances, ie I would consider hate a slightly stronger word than dislike. OTOH, if somebody told me, "I dislike Trump, not hate him," I'd say they're splitting hairs. I would say I both dislike and hate CNN, otoh, I neither dislike nor hate Biden.

I don't care. The two of you are arguing something literal. Have you thought about debating each other? An orange is similar to a grapefruit but they are not the same.

Only an idiot would substitute a grapefruit for an orange. However, one might substitute a clementine for a mandarin.

But just so we're clear, you only dislike things that don't affect you (ie high gas prices), not hate them. And to be even clearer, I don't recall ever saying you hate high gas prices. Do you have an example of me saying you hate high gas prices?

Who are you trying to convince? You aren't going to get me to change my mind on how I view things. It kills you people when you come across people who think differently or for themselves doesn't it. OMG, this guy is a free thinker!!! We must educate him!!!!! gtfo.

I understand beyond a doubt you're not one to change your mind. It"s just unfortunate to see people that don't understand things like synonyms and reject things like dictionaries and thesauri. I guess if that's what qualifies as being a free thinker, go for it. It's just that people provide us with things like style guides, dictionaries and thesauri to avoid this type of confusion.

And it kills me to listen to people like you and Rob say that people don't "understand" shit when you guys refuse literal shit. We weren't talking about synonyms or something being similar or dictionaries or thesauruses. I was speaking literally and you two want to group together and ignore what it is to be literal... just... to.... argue.
