You are correct, but extreme acts like this usually follow heavy repression.
If people had just let homosexuals/etc be themselves in history, would there have been this extreme desire and push to be so flagrantly open about EVERYTHING? I personally doubt it.

It’s the repressed Catholic school girl who goes out and goes off the deep end with partying. It’s Rumspringa (sic?). It’s the preacher who is banging hookers in a hotel room. It’s the Middle East men who go bat-shit crazy at the sight of an ankle.

It’s the opposite of Europeans who see a bare breast on a billboard and say “oh” and continue about their day.

If people who do not fit the societal mould as “normal” hadn’t been (and still often are) treated like complete shit for pretty much the history of our country, maybe they wouldn’t feel the need to “fight back” now.

The young ones may not be feeling the decades of repression, but I can guarantee without having witnessed it that every one of them has st some time been treated very poorly because of who they are.

Hell, just look at some of the posts on this forum. You got one guy whose go-to for an “insult” is to tell a guy to perform some homosexual act or another. You have others flat out saying they dislike homosexuals simply because they are homosexual.

Shit, you have religious zealots preaching that god creates hurricanes as a punishment for homosexuality. And their tens or hundred of thousands of followers buy into it.

So if it's you're opinion that it's a choice, then it's safe to assuem you don't butt slam dudes because you've made a conscious decision not to and hypothetically you could wake up tomorrow morning and decide it's time to turn over a new leaf and start banging dudes....

It isn't necessarily genetic. For example, I'd bet we'd find higher instances of homosexuality in children adopted into ghey homes. That said, most every homosexual person I know tried "deciding" they really hetrosexual, even raising families. Didn't work out.

1) I guess all my ghey friends are lying about "being born that way" and all my hetro friends are also lying about being "born hetro." I guess everybody is lying to me about it...

2) So you could butt slam a dude tomorrow. Personally, as a hetro male, I couldn't do, couldn't function. Maybe you're bi-curious and that's why this is conscious vs subconscious decision for you. Personally, my mind was made up before I was even aware of the concept of homosexuality.
