WinISD ?'s

Okay, I am using WinISD to try and design a box for my (2) 12" Shiva's. It is much harder than I imagined, I read the "instructions" that came with it, but that didn't help and I am getting really frustrated.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/pissed.gif.9f665f96bc89e98e708dabd4580bb591.gif I have decided to go ported as I can't get the sealed curve to be anywhere near -3 db at 33, without a HUGE box that wont fit in my car, much less my trunk.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif Going ported at 33hz with 2.6 ft cubed seems pretty good (-3db at 30hz), but I don't understand how to do the ports, also I calculated with one sub, cuz I don't understand how this program treats 2 subs. I am also completely lost when calculating how much space the port takes up and all. I AM REALLY LOST, and I have soo many ?'s that won't even fit here. Someone please help b4 I //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blow_up.gif.f2a780e8b12ae09e264cb01720b8dca2.gif THX.

WinISD doesnt take into account cabin gain. Trust me, a sealed box have a MUCH flatter in-car response than ported as well as better transient response. Ported will get louder ie peakier even if WinISD says it is flat. Dont get me wrong, I love ported boxes to death, but for SQ, as what it sounds like you are going for, there is no other option but sealed IMO.

Thx for replies, I have decided to go sealed as this ported stuff is too much for me and my having never built a box.

Here is what I have come up with for (2) Shivas,

3 Cu. Ft, .75" MDF, "Outer Dimensions" 26"W x 20"H x 13"D.

It seems like WINIsd accounts for wood thickness, but I don't understand how to figure out how much material to get, and dimensions to cut pieces too.

Should I just use some inch long wood screws? And my last question is how do I account for sub displacement, or do I need to worry about as I am building a little bigger box than recommended? Thanks for putting up with my newbness.

not .14 temepst is liek .070

winisd realy does not much with out the pro version and update and you still need to know how to do it on paper to make it work

there are folks on here who draw up plans for real cheat liek 8 bucks

i don't think jmac is doing it anymore but you could ask him if you get him and he says he isn't doing it anymore hit me up i will draw you one up for about 8 bucks

just make sure and ask jamc fist cause i don't want to step on toes
