Wine Drinkers Unite!

I learned to drink wine from my family up in San Francisco when I went over there for an AES convention. I started with whites then moved to reds. Of all the different varieties I have had Cabernet Sauvignon is my favorite but I have yet to taste a Burgandy which I hear is pretty good. I can hardly stand whites now unless they are sweet like Rieslings.

My family up in northern California is part of some wine club where I from what I understand they all own a stake in some vineyard where they harvest the grapes then process them to make wine. I only see them once a year or so but they always give me a bottle a night to drink whether I am staying there for a weekend or for a month. I think we went through about $400 of Cabernet Sauvignons and Rieslings last time I went up there with my girlfriend.

The only time I drink white wine is with the proper food pairing so I don't look like an idiot at a restaurant...otherwise, bleh.

Spanish wine is where its at. Marques de Caceres Crianza (Rioja) is **** good considering its price (about $15.99 a bottle), I buy it by the case.

If you want to try a port that isn't expensive, look into the Osborne lines.
