Windshield Tint...

I've looked through the various tint threads and none really covered the basis of windshield tinting so here it goes...

So I'm getting my audi tinted tomorrow, now all of my cars in the past have had 5% all around but I have never tinted the windshield. Tomorrow I am doing 5% all around including full windshield.

What I am trying to find out is who has their full windshield tinted, what percent, and how has it effected night driving?

EDIT: I'm not concerned with legalities because I have a script for it.

I have 30% on my windshield. I really like it. I even have smoked head lights which decreases light output by alot and I can still see find. If your going 30% make sure you got some HID's! They will really help out !

My buddy did 15% over 50% on his windshield with 5% on top of 15% on his windows. It was stupid.

The only reason you'd need it that dark is so you can smoke fat blunts during the day next to cops.

Or to hide dead bodies.

I have 30% on my windshield btw and it's perfect.

Wow not only would be dangerous at night time, but also would probably get you a ticket withing an hour or two of driving IMO. Even with HID lights it would be very difficult to see at night

not 30% I see just fine at night with 30% and smoked headlights 30% is the **** way to go! Also I got 20% all the way around and if you have 5% around it will make the windshield look darker

That's what I was going to ask was how dark you had the sides, thanks for the pics as well.

How large of a difference would there be from 30 to 15 and 15 to 5?

I was originally going to do 15% on the windshield but figured as long as I was going that low I might as well just do 5% to match the rest of the car.

Main reason I want to do the windshield is because I have a black leather interior and I know not doing the windshield would trap the heat inside from coming through the windshield and it would be hell getting in it during the summer. I know in my last car with grey cloth and 5% all around with out windshield that's how it was...

I dont think there will really be any diffrence at all. Even in direct sunlight its hard to see in my car straight on. I think you will be completely none visable with 30% on the windshield and 5% around the car. Also please NO tint strip there ugly as ****

Anything below 30% and you're begging for a ticket. If you can, find someone who has 30% w/ the smoked affect to it. It gives it a reflective look and blends with the windsheild nicely.

Personally I would look into the laws concerning that in your area. It will save you a lot of money and future headache. A reputable shop should know your local jurisdictional codes/laws concerning tinting %.

I think windshield tint is illegal in every state iirc

Seriously, don't do 5% windshield, it'll look tight form the outside but at night will ****, and cops will definatly notice it. I have 50% color-stable on my windshield, blends perfectly with the 20% ceramic 3M i have all around, a REALLY recommend 3M color-stable tint on the front, especially if you have any suction cups from a radar detector or gps, so the tint doesn't superheat and lose color....plus with polarized shades it barely shows coloring, and no "checkers". Just some tips:)

I tinted my windshield for a bit more privacy, but mostly to keep out the heat, and it does help!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
