Windows XP PRO 32bit vs 64bit ?

Well I recently picked up a legit copy of Windows XP Professional 32 and 64bit version. I have installed right now XP PRO 32bit version. What if any, would I benefit going to the 64bit version?

System

AMD 64 X2 5600+

2gb DDR800

WD Raptor 36gb

MSI 8600GTS

IDE200gb

External 250gb.

64bit won't improve much since most programs don't utilize the technology, but it certainly won't hurt your performance. I believe there may be some issues with driver support though.

64 bit with those raptors is amazing, just general usage of your computer will improve greatly

i run 64 bit with a raptor and its nuts fast

good job on two posts.
What?

As far as gaming, not so much really. Not until Starcraft 2 comes out at least. I use it often for internet browsing, chatting, winamp/wmp and what not. Sometimes I'll open up adobe photoshop to resize some pictures here and there.

You would gain a lot of head aches because of lack of support as far as drivers, IMO if you want to use a Mainstream 64 bit OS vista is the only way to go, because all of software developers will contour their programs around the 64 bit architecture in Vista where as if you use an older OS they usually don't spend much time developing support for it because its older and in the process of disappearing.

I would go with the XP 32 bit version just because you shouldn't have a problem getting the right drivers and software.

EDIT: To my knowledge as far as gains go the only thing that has been proven to perform better is security and compression due to the more complex 64bit algorithms used.
