window bracing?

i've used the window bracing technique before, and i'll be using it with the box i'm currently building, but i was just wondering if it takes away any output from the enclosure....i know its alot stronger than a regular brace, but would it be louder not using the window type brace?

With window bracing being stronger, I would see using it as being louder (that is if it isn't seriously obstructing the air flow out the port) as it will reduce box flex more than regular bracing.

General rule of thumb with it; don't directly restrict the port and roundover every edge of it to minimize turbulence in the box.
