if you got the 4 ohm version this thing claims you will be giving the sub 1600 watts which is way to much. I will believe that map puts out maybe 900 at 4 ohms which will work for the mj 18 but be easy on the gains. If you got the 8 ohm version, you can probably still bridge that amp at 8 ohms and have ~450 watts on it. Again, all of my watts are guesses becasue I don't believe that amp will put out the stated power.

Sure. Just get the sub with an 8 ohm coil or keep the gains down.

is it a 8 or 4 ohm mj??? if it is 4 ohms then it is impossible... if it is the 8 ohms, it is simply hooking the + lead from the sub to one of the channels + and hooking the - to the - of the OTHER channel.

Any idea what amp you're going to get later? That should halp you decide which to get.

Not trying to get an 8 ohm load genius. You're bridging the amp to a 4 ohm load. That is a 2 channel amp that is 2-ohm stable in stereo. Ergo it is 4-ohm stable bridged. Not all that difficult to figure out.

You'll have to buy a bigger amp later on to power the 8 ohm version. I'd say just pick up the 4 ohmer and bridge the SOundStorm amp with gains set for 600-800w.

I was replying to that... SIMPLY saying that if he got a 4 ohm woofer then there is ZERO way (hints the work impossible) to get a 8 ohm load. I was telling him that for his benefit.
