Will this wiring work?

I have two 12" subs that don't have a brand name, or their ohms on them. Is there a way to figure out their ohms? They are SVC.

I am thinking about getting an Eclipse XA1000 (going to upgrade subs later). It is rated 480 watts @ 2 ohms, so if I wire the positive from the amp to both subs, and do the same with the negative (I think its called parallel), will the amp see this as a 2 ohm load?

You need to get a multimeter and put it on the Ohm's selection, then test the coil of your subs. But you have the right idea as far as wiring it in parallel. And since you said your subs are single voice coils, they're most likely 4 ohms. I dont think ive ever seen a no name brand SVC come in 2 ohms.
