Will this be too much???

I just want a flatter response. Thinking of sealing my xxx18 in about 4.5 cubes. Will a 5000d be too much for it? I have no access to the tools necessary to set my gains "correctly". Should I settle for a smaller amp? Maybe 1800-2000rms instead? Help is appreciated...

you'll be fine but clipping a smaller amp will kill the sub just the sae as clipping a larger amp. a dmm only costs $20. you bought an expensive sub and amp so i can imagine you can spare $20
