Will these bass blockers do the job?

Hey,

I have some Pioneer TS-A6962R 6x9s installed in my car. They run straight from my HU and I'm afraid of blowing them when cranking the sound up. I was thinking of getting some bass blockers so that the low frequencies don't blow them and I can really crank up my sub.

I was wondering if these will do the trick:

They seem to be good, and they are cheap. Will those work? Its for 4 Ohms so it will cut off 300Hz down, is that good for 6x9s or should I get like 800Hz down?

300 is to high... if they make a 80 or 120 get that...

Walmart has Scoshe at 200hz I've used those and they work good

save yourself some time and go to your local radio shack or electrical store and buy a non-electrolitic 47uf cap that should take out most of the low bass but still let some in

50-80 hz is sufficient.

I agree 200 seems high....maybe not for those speakers though...I don't know. I've got my mids cut at about 150hz.

What do you have for 6.5's? Do they have crossovers already?

Shitty speakers or a SQ based speaker will blow with to much power and bass... I used to have the old memphis highest class comps and they were the best sounding comp besides my focals but couldn't take bass or power at all... My focals on the other hand sounded just as good and had great output with out breaking up like the memphises did with out the bass blockers....

Unless you have a dedicated midbass with a 3 way setup, the mids up front should be able to play down to 80hz in order to build a true sq system, IMHO.

i run those, just turn the bass down on your deck, and make sure you wire them into the positive lead.
