Will the CD7200 MKII be worth it? (Over 880PRS)

1: The face quality and feel was terrible.

2: The way the face opens caused me to have to hack up my dash kit for it to fit properly causing a huge gap if I wanted to put another HU in its place. I've heard of a buch of other people that have had this problem as well.

3: The menu's are terrible.

4: The usb made all sorts of noises in frequencies up high that your tweeters would pick up, like a snapping sound.

5: The output was always inconsistent, on the highway I would have to turn it up to 65/70 for it to be consistently loud, whereas with my current 9887 and old 880prs and 860mp I have never had an issue with output.

6: The single dial to operate everything, it's near impossible to change tracks or do anything productive while driving with that big *** single knob/switch.

Thats mostly the big stuff, I can't think of the rest but I'm pretty sure there was a bit more.

all these issues X 2 for me.

and so i figured to take a plunge in some icy waters and wake up already....doing the DRZ9255 !!

no they have the 7200 sans picture on the site and it will be 549.00 with an expected march 7th date
Ahh, well $100 less than the 7100 new. Better than nothing. But if the 7200 is as bad as the 7100, I'm gonna have a real complication :-\

Eclipse emailed me back and said they will begin shipping to retailers sometime next month //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

So nothing from Eclipse until March... ugh.

To be honest, I would choose the Eclipse head unit only because of the bad grounding issues with Pioneer decks.

Easy to not have the problem, and in the event you do blow the fuse, very easy to solve and remove the distortion.

I was going through the same problem you were, but the general USB functions of almost every player out there is still to primitive to be very useful, as its difficult to navigate with every HU out there.

I still prefer USB over CD though. I don't use folders or anything, just 150 tracks in a row, love it.

I think USB is a great tool but its just not ready yet, good old AUX input is the best choice at the moment.
Doesn't the AUX input utilize the devices internal DAC as opposed to the HU DAC ~ maybe via direct iPod connect...?
