Will JL e2150 amp run a Type R sub?

In short....HELL NO!

Alpine Type R's ar rated 500w RMS but want more like 800w-1000w RMS....save your money and buy a Hifonics BXI 1606D or BXI 1206D and call it a day.

Spend about $250-$300 for either shipped.

I would be a waste of money imo.....500w to one Type R and no less.......sure it will run off the amp but you'll be stting the gains super high and the bass boost and clip the shit out of it just trying to get the sub to sound the way it should......500-800w RMS per Type R......

you stick with your plans ill stick with mine

Yeah, my car's two alpine dual voice Alpine R's had one of the Rs give out after a little over 3 years. Was thinking of switching the one remaining R to my other car, replacing 2 12 kenwoods which are 6 yrs old (and the only amp Id have left would be a e2150 I was using to run my type R components upfront).

Was thinking of putting in two X's inplace of the two R's....the amps I have are 4 Alpine MRD-M300s
